My sister did Cats for a professional Dance Concert a few years back.
She played a different cat. The company paid a wig designer to sculpt a set of wigs to the shape of the cats ears. Then the students were given skin tight leotards and a set of tools, like paint, paint brushes and additional fur to create the costume.
So there are the first few steps for you. Get a wig, sculpt it. Get a black leotard, some white paint + some additional white fur (from the fabric store). Accompany the costume with some black jazz shoes, white gloves and good face paint – there you have it.
